Let’s grab a bevvy and get real…New Year’s resolutions… We were so pumped for back in January. If you’re anything like me, you were ready to take on the world. But now, as we’re well into the second quarter, it might feel like those goals have slipped off the radar. Don’t worry—you’re not alone! Today, we’re going to talk about why that happens and how to get back on track, so you can still crush your goals this year!

The Quarter-Two Slump: Why Resolutions Fade

As working moms and ambitious side hustlers, we juggle a lot. So, by the time the second quarter hits, those big goals from January can feel more like distant memories. But just because things haven’t gone as planned doesn’t mean you’ve failed. It just means it’s time for a refresh!

Here are 10 reasons why your goals might have stalled—and how to turn things around.

1. Lack of Clarity

We all start with good intentions, but sometimes those goals are too vague, like “lose weight” or “spend more time with family.” That’s where SMART goals come in: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. Instead of “lose weight,” try “lose 10 pounds by December.” Breaking things down into bite-sized, achievable steps is key.

2. Negative Mindset

Your mindset can make or break your progress. Focusing on what you didn’t do only drags you down. Celebrate those small wins! If you didn’t stick to your plan one day, focus on the days you did. Incorporate daily affirmations or listen to a motivating podcast—positivity fuels progress.

3. Overly Ambitious Goals

I love dreaming big, but setting goals that are too ambitious can be overwhelming. Instead of planning to launch five new products this year, break it down—maybe start with one or two and build from there. Baby steps, girl!

4. Unrealistic Deadlines

Speaking of baby steps, give yourself a timeline that’s actually doable. We all want quick results, but setting deadlines that are too tight can set us up for disappointment. Be realistic, and remember—progress takes time!

5. No Accountability

Accountability is everything! Find someone who can keep you in check—a friend, a community, or even an app. Tracking your progress, whether it’s fitness, business, or personal growth, will keep you motivated and on target.

6. Inconsistent Planning

If you don’t plan, how will you know where you’re going? Make time for regular planning sessions, and set weekly or monthly goals. And if you need help with that, join my live masterclass on scheduling systems—it’s a game-changer!

7. Ignoring Prioritization

We can’t do it all, Sis! Prioritize what matters most to you in this season of life. Maybe mornings are for self-care, afternoons for your side hustle, and evenings for family time. Finding that balance within structure will keep you productive without the overwhelm.

8. Skipping Reflection Time

Taking time to reflect is so important. When you track and review your progress, you can see what’s working and where you need to make adjustments. I recommend setting aside “CEO days” every quarter to check in on your goals, metrics, and growth.

9. Lack of Flexibility

Life happens—kids get sick, work gets busy, and plans change. Be flexible with your goals. Adjusting doesn’t mean you’re failing; it just means you’re human. Give yourself grace and keep moving forward.

10. Poor Time Management

We’ve all been there—feeling like there’s never enough time. That’s where time blocking comes in! Dedicate specific times on your calendar for goal-related tasks. You’d be amazed at how much progress you can make when you’re intentional with your time.

Let’s Get Back on Track!

Take a deep breath—there’s still plenty of time to hit those goals! Look through the list above, identify where you might be slipping, and tweak your approach. You’ve got nine more months to make it happen, and I know you can do it.

Let’s hold each other accountable—send me DM on Instagram and let me know your goals. Remember, growth happens outside our comfort zones, and you’ve got everything you need to succeed.

You’ve got this, Sis! Keep pushing, stay focused, and celebrate every win—big or small. I’ll talk to you soon!
